Robert W. "Bob" Fremont Sr.
Funeral service for Robert W. "Bob" Fremont Sr., 82, who died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at his home in Good Samaritan ALF, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at All Saints Lutheran Church, 751 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange, with Int. Pastor Perry Hanson officiating. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Gardens. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home.
Born in Flushing, N.Y., Mr. Fremont was a resident of Port Orange for the last 35 years. Bob has left behind a legacy of love. He was a passionate and generous patriarch to family, friends and church. Bob touched many communities: Good Samaritan, All Saints Lutheran Church, Bel Canto Singers, and South Daytona R/C Model Yacht Club. He served on the Halifax Urban Ministries Board, with the Gideons International, as well as other fraternal and community organizations. He served in the Navy, in the South Pacific during World War II. He enjoyed a 47-year career as a financial planner, holding a seat on the Boston Stock Exchange. He enjoyed sailing, wind surfing, singing, playing a vibrant game of chess and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Evelyn, who resides in the Hope Center at Good Samaritan; his children and their spouses, Robert W. "Dale" Fremont Jr. and Lynne Fremont, Altamonte Springs, Paul and Donna Fremont, Port Orange, Laura Fremont and Michael Fallon, Los Angeles, Calif., and Elana and Lawrence Moore, Concord, N.C.; granddaughters, Jacqueline, Rachel and Elizabeth Moore, Concord, and Aymee and Kari Fremont, Port Orange; cousins; nieces; nephews; and brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many dear friends.
