Stanley W. Fredette, 78 of Holyoke, died Thursday March 15, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. Stanley was born in Chicopee, son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Frodyma) Fredette, and was a graduate of Chicopee High School. He retired from United Technologies, formerly American Bosch, where he worked with the NASA Space Shuttle program. Stanley was an avid golfer and member of the Westover Golf Course. He was a skilled master craftsman and an avid fan of the Patriots and Red Sox, as well as a supporter of UMass athletics. Stanley was also an avid harmonica player. He is survived by his wife and friend Helena (McManus) Fredette, his children: David Fredette and his wife Joanne of Chicopee, Holly Sanville and her husband James, Heather Fredette and her partner Jason Benoit, all of Holyoke; two granddaughters Nicole and Hannah; a sister Rita Menard of Chicopee; several nieces and nephews including his beloved nieces Doreen and Marianne, and his beloved dog Foxy. He was predeceased by a brother Joe Fredette. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St. Holyoke, followed by a Mass at 10am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Chicopee. Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association , 306 Industrial Park Rd., Suite 105, Middletown, CT 06457
