Bernice A. Fraser, 83, of Granger, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 18, 2015, after a brief illness. The Escanaba MI native was born October 25, 1931 to Kenneth & Cecile (LaMarch) Lesway, who have preceded her in death. Bernice received her Bachelor’s Degree from Rosary College and was employed at B. Heller & Co. where she met her loving husband Joseph; they were married on February 23, 1957 and afterwards she became a homemaker. Bernice was a long-time member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and was involved in many church functions and activities. Bernice enjoyed being a wife, raising her children and watching her grandchildren grow. Family & friends were the most important things in her life; always showing concern for others, taking them a meal or driving them to a doctor’s appointment; just being helpful in any way possible. In addition to her parents, Bernice was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Fraser, Jr ; son David John Fraser and infant son, Joseph W. Fraser III. She is survived by her daughter, Mary F. (Bret) Kite of Granger; daughter-in-law, Kim Fraser of Osceola and three grandsons, A.J., Ryan and Travis Fraser. She also leaves behind a sister, Marilyn LaRaux of Bethal, Alaska. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 Friday, January 23, 2015 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Rd. with calling one hour prior to Mass in the church. Calling also Thursday 4-8pm in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., with a rosary recited at 7:30pm. Burial in Violett Cemetery in Goshen. Bernice’s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Heartland Hospice and Michiana Health & Rehabilitation Center. The family’s preferred memorials are Queen of Peace Catholic School, 4508 Vistula Rd. Mishawaka IN 46544 or Heartland Hospice, 826 W. Edison Rd. Mishawaka IN 46545.
