Mrs. Lucretia Francis, one of Norfolk’s oldest residents, died suddenly today at the home of her daughter, Louie Francis, on Freemason Street. The deceased had been unwell for two days, but had seemed early this afternoon to be in good spirits. Death came shortly before noon.
Mrs. Francis was the sister of Dr. Herbert M. Nash, of this city, and Mrs. Peter M. Dillard, of Rocky Mount, N.C. She was the mother of the later John T. Francis.
Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed.

The funeral of Mrs. Lucretia Nash Francis, sister of Dr. Herbert M. Nash, who died suddenly yesterday, took place this afternoon from her late home, 257 Fenchurch Street, with services conducted by Rev. J.M. Ownes, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
The interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The following were the pall-bearers: Arthur Ribble, M.W. Talbot, Dr. Herbert Old, William W. Old, Jr., Tazewell Taylor Hubard, Page Hoggard, Norman Bell, Jr., and Page Lee.

Funeral service at the residence this (Friday) afternoon at 3:30 o’clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment private.
