FROZEN TO DEATH NEAR WEST POINT. BODY OF CHRIS FRAISE FOUND IN PASTURE.
Coroner’s Inquest Held, Finding That Heart Disease Was Probable Cause - An Old Resident.
The dead body of Chris Fraise was found this morning about 6 o’clock in the pasture of John Reuter, three miles south of West Point, and about 200 yards from the Reuter home.
Mr. Fraise was a bachelor and about 46 years old.
In the absence of Coroner Fred Korschgen, Justice John Kempker empaneled a jury, composed of Melchior Boerger, Frank Merschman and Cuno Merschman. After viewing the body and hearing the evidence in the case they returned a verdict in effect that death was caused by heart failure.
When found he had evidently been dead several hours, as the body was stiff and apparently frozen.
The deceased is survived by three brothers and two sister, namely: Casper Fraise, Nevada, Mo., Frank Fraise, St. Paul, Iowa, John Fraise, West Point, Iowa, Mrs. Wm. Link and Mrs. John Reuter of West Point, Iowa.
Funeral Wednesday, February 19, at 9:30 a.m., from St. Mary’s church in West Point.
