Gwyn Sue Fox Basse was the daughter of Barbara Burgoon Terrell and the granddaughter of Walter U. and Alma L. Burgoon. She has four sisters: Juana Terrell Minter, Eugenia Terrell Clark, Terri and Audrey Terrell, and a brother, Aubrey (Tadpole) Terrell. She also had a dear friend who was as close as a sister, Nancy Fletcher. She married Michael Fox in the early 1970s. She was the mother of Michael Thomas Fox and Joseph Charles Fox. She now has a daughter-in-law, Shannon and three grandsons: Joseph Charles, Jr., Justin Connor and Jacob Colin Fox.
She later married Ed Basse. They had no children.
Gwyn was a lifelong resident of the Rio Grande Valley.
She worked at the Valley Morning Star in Harlingen.
She was killed Sunday, May 13, 1990 in a motorcycle-truck collision on FM 801-Ed Carey Drive in Harlingen at age 35.
Gwyn had a very outgoing personality and had many friends.
She was loving, kind and fun. She also was a firm believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
