BETTY FOWLER, 76
''Graveside services for Betty (Butch) Fowler, 67, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Floyd Cemetery with Scott P. Reeves officiating. Wheeler Morturary of Portales is handling arrangements. Mrs. Fowler died late the evening of Aug. 29 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born in Conway, Ark., to Grace and Carl Glover.
She and her family were living near Tucson, Ariz., when she met Mr. Fowler. She married Marvin Fowler on June 9, 1947 in Lordsburg. (New Mexico) They made their home in Arizona until the early 1950s when they moved to Floyd. (New Mexico) She and her husband owned a small farm and a dairy. She was a member of Floyd Baptist Church.
A few years later, they moved to Portales, but after about five years, they moved back to the Floyd area where they farmed until 1975. Since then, she had lived in Portales. She enjoyed attending business classes at Eastern New Mexico University.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin, of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sherry and David Moon of Portales and Linda Kay Sullins of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren, Ronnie Cain of Fort Leavenworth, Kan., Shawn Gore of Portales and Kristy Holden of Las Cruces; three great-grandchildren, Katlyn Gore, Bryan Gore and Bailey Holden; and four step great-grandchildren, Allison Meyle and Christopher Meyle, Alan Sullins and Cory Sullins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are B.W. Luce, John W. Smith, Dennis Luce, Duward Moon, Lewis Gregory, Shane Lee, Shannon Lee, Howard Miller and all friends."
