SEVEN POINTS - Thelma Louise Fountain Barham, 84, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Goodnight Cemetery in Goodnight with the Rev. Kenneth James, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Thelma was born April 30, 1924, in Monroe County, Ala., to Charles and Maggie Wiggins Fountain. On Oct. 30, 1945, she married Perry Newland Barham Sr. in Moss Point, Miss.
Prior to moving to Seven Points in 2005, she had spent the last 30 years in Arlington. She had been a homemaker, sold real estate in Colorado, worked as a retail clerk for J.C. Penney Co., and had retired from Martin Sprocket and Gear in Arlington.
Thelma enjoyed dancing, playing games and traveling. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a Southern Baptist and attended First Baptist Church in Tool.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Ginny Robinette and husband Bob of Seven Points; two sons, Perry Barham Jr. and fiance Betty Mueller of Chicago, and Bobby Barham and wife Geneva of Springtown; a brother, Woodrow Fountain of Alamogordo, N.M.; a sister, Voncile Drake of Conroe; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to a local hospice of choice.
