Nancy Marie (Foster) Bechard of Yakima passed away May 24, 2016 at “The Cottage in the Meadow” hospice center in Yakima, WA, with her husband and children by her side. Nancy was born February 10, 1948 in Richland, WA to Donald and Marie (Fasbender) Foster. Nancy attended Christ the King Catholic elementary school and then graduated in 1966 from Richland High School. She was involved with the Future Business Leaders of America and enjoyed spending time with her many girl friends and sporting events at school. Her family was the most important thing in her life, spending time with her mom and five older brothers. In 1967, Nancy married her high school sweetheart, Michael Bechard of Richland, and moved to Wenatchee, WA and started a family. In 1969 they moved to Yakima. Nancy worked in the retail grocery industry for many years as a meat wrapper/cutter, a smoked meat buyer for Associated Grocers, sales and marketing at Pederson Fryer Farms and finished her career with United Sales and Marketing, finally retiring in 2006. She then became involved at Holy Family Church as a member of the parish council and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Nancy cherished all of her family, but especially her six grandchildren. She always had a place in her heart for those in need and took great pride in helping them unconditionally. During her time spent working with the Catholic Daughters, she enjoyed the close friendships with all the wonderful women. Nancy took great pride providing services to all the families in need of funeral luncheons at Holy Family Church, but especially the Holiday Bazaar and the Santa Breakfast held each holiday season. When Nancy wasn’t helping others in the community, she loved spending time at mom and dad’s beautiful getaway at Lake Roosevelt or relaxing near their pool watching her grandkids play. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time working on her poolside flower gardens at home.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Michael Bechard, her son Paul Bechard of Selah; sons Anthony and Cody and daughter Catherine; her daughter Cindy and husband Kenny Armstrong of Lacey; son Dylan Clowes, daughters Daniell and Taylor Armstrong; Nancy’s brothers Tom Foster of Des Moines, Ed Foster and Kenny Foster of Richland, Ron Foster of Yakima; as well as many beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Nancy is preceded in death by her father Donald, mother Marie Foster and her brother Jim Foster.

Our family would like to take the opportunity to say a special “THANK YOU” to Cheri and all the people at Memorial Hospice Center of Yakima for taking special care of our wife and mother.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home with a vigil starting at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Holy Family Church, with burial at Calvary Cemetery.
