Charles Edward "Pete" Foster, 84, of Sneads Ferry, passed away Thursday, May 08, 2014 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter. He was born in Spring Hill, WV on October 17, 1929, and was a son of the late John Lewis and Ida Macel Reed Foster. Pete was a retired 1st Sgt., having served in the USMC for over 22 years. Surviving are three daughters, Jacqueline E. Blair, Janette Foster, both of Sneads Ferry, Darlene Ellis of Holly Ridge; a son, Michael Foster of Stuart, FL; and two grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Callie Jane Foster; a daughter, Esther Ruth Foster; two brothers and five sisters. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5 pm until 7 pm at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro. Funeral services will be 11 am Monday, May 12, 2014 in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro, with Reverends Dwayne Collins and Homer Prince officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Seaside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation; 1414 Physicians Drive; Wilmington, NC 28401.
