ONEIDA >> Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Foster, 92, formerly of Sconondoa Road, died Saturday, July 26, 2014, in the Oneida Extended Care Facility where she had been a resident since 2008.
Born in Oneida, on Jan. 31, 1922, she was a daughter of Henry and Lillian Parkhurst Gahr. Jackie attended and graduated from the Oneida schools. Before her marriage she worked in the Metropolitan Store in Oneida. She married Francis W. Foster on March 25, 1951 at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Ellsworth and Ruth Gahr, who served as their attendants. Francis died Sept. 18, 1992.
Jackie and Francis lived in Munnsville after their marriage, helping to run the Foster family farm; Jackie enjoyed being a farmer's wife. They moved to Sconondoa Road, Oneida after retiring from the farm. With no family of her own, she cherished her niece and nephews and their families.
Jackie is survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Edmund Egelston of Oneida; a niece, Renee L. Relyea of Oneida; two nephews, Rodney L. Trapasso of Syracuse and Mark E. Egelston, Sr., of Utica; and a special great-nephew, Jeffrey P. Egelston of Oneida. She was predeceased by her brother, Ellsworth Gahr, on Feb. 27, 2005.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., with the Rev. Neal Cole, officiating. Interment will be made in Stockbridge Cemetery.
