Alice Ruth Myers Foster, a native of Laurel, Miss., and a longtime resident of Mobile, died Sunday at her home. She was 76.
Foster, a medical technologist, did her internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, and began her professional career with Dr. Samuel Eichold. Upon his retirement, she continued working with Dr. Denny Wright and Dr. C. Ivey Williamson at the Internal Medicine Center in Mobile, until she retired in 1989.
She graduated from Murphy High School in 1945 and Mississippi University for Women in 1949.
She was an active member of a mystic society for 49 years, where she served as both president and emblem, and was a longtime member of the Pigskin Club in Mobile.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, George M. Foster Jr. of Mobile.
Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
