Death of Mrs Bradley
Mrs Lucretia Bradley,widow of Rev Cyrus A Bradley,died May 18, at the advanced age of 92 years.
Mrs Bradley was the daughter of Freeman and Mehitable (Low) Foster,a descendant of Chillingsworth Foster, who built a residence in Brewster in 1699,which was rebuilt by David Foster in 1793.This homestead was owned ny the Foster family until it was purchased by the Rev Mr Bradley some years before his death.
Mrs Bradley was the last of a family of ten children.Her father was a man of note in his day,having been one of the founders of the Universalist Church of Brewster.Her husband was minister of that church and of the Universalist church of Yarmouth for many years, and was highly esteemed as a man of wide learning and irreproachable life.
Mrs Bradley herself was a staunch adherent of the Universalist church,clinging closely to the faith of which her father and her husband were distinguished exponents.
Since the death of her husband she has lived alone and had been remarkably well preserved both in mind and body for one of her extreme age.
She was a woman of strong and decided opinions,well read, and in touch with events of the day.
Funeral services were held on May 21st conducted by Rev E A Hoyt pastor of the Universalist church of Hyannis.Mrs Bradley is survived by one son Rev Asa M Bradley of Woodsford Me.
