Katherine Forrer Ritchie, 92, a resident of Oak Hill Health Care Center, Staunton, former resident of Churchville, died Saturday, April 29, 1995 at Augusta Medical Center. She was born January 27, 1903 in Stuarts Draft, a daughter of the late John and Nellie (Kenney) Forrer. She attended Harrisonburg State Teachers College and taught school in Augusta County. She was a member of Churchville Woman's Club and St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Churchville. Surviving are a sister, Regina F. Harris; and a brother, William Jacob Forrer, both of Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. Ritchie, daughter, Betty Ann (Ritchie) Clem, three brothers, John, Samuel and Charles Forrer and two sisters, Nellie Werner and Virginia Kenney. A graveside service will be conducted 5 p.m. Monday in Green Hill Cemetery, Churchville, by the Rev. Gregory John Briehl. Bear Funeral Home in Churchville is handling arrangements.
