Catherine Ellen Fore (Allen) was born 20 July 1843 in Pulaksi County, Kentucky; daughter of Benjamin Fore and Sabra "Saby" Stogsdill. Catherine married Valentine "Tine" Allen 31 Jan 1861 in Phelps County, Missouri. They were the parents of more than 10 children, at least 2 of whom died in infancy. Catherine's father Ben Fore was born in 1823 in Knox County, Kentucky; the Fore family came from Virginia. The Fore family was connected to the family of Wyatt Earp, Wild West Lawman: Ben Fore's sister Sarah Fore Married Singleton Earp, a distant cousin of Wyatt Earp.

Catherine's mother Sabra Stogsdill Fore was born 1822 in Pulaksi County, Kentucky to parents Daniel David Stogsdill (born 1784 in North Carolina) and Sarah Hargis (born 1787 in Virginia). Catherine died in 1900 and is buried at Allen Cemetery in Phelps County, Missouri.
