A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Vera Forbes Bounds died on Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at 1:33 a.m. at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. She was 71 years old, a native of Walker and a resident of Calcasieu. She was a member of Lone Star Pentecostal Church in Hineston.
Visitation was at Lone Star Pentecostal Church on Thursday, July 28, from 2 p.m. until memorial service at 5 p.m. Visitation at Shady Bower Church in Walker on Friday, July 29, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Religious service at Shady Bower Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, conducted by the Rev. Calvin Robinson. Interment in the Sibley Cemetery in Satsuma. She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Herman Bounds; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Gralin Buratt of Ponchatoula and Kathy and Robert Hinckley of Deland, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Benny and Lisa Bounds of Woodstock, Ga.; sister, Velma Murray of Holden; brother, James Forbes of Walker; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Furda and Lillian Courtney Forbes; two brothers, Clyde and Monroe Forbes; and two sisters, Gladys Gregoire and Georgia Sibley.
