The Perry County Democrat (Bloomfield, PA), 18 Dec 1912 (Wed), page 3
Mrs. Jacob Beers, after a long illness from that terrible disease, cancer, died at her home in Kennedy's Valley on Friday evening. Everything that could be done for her was done by her loving husband and children. She was taken to the hospital some time ago, but nothing could staty the progress of the disease.
Mrs. Beers' maiden name was Foltz and she was formerly a resident of near Bailey's Station. Her husband and six children survive, namely: Josephine (Mrs. David Richner); Susan (Mrs. Henry Raffensperger) and Annie (Mrs. Robert Stambaugh) all of Bailey's; Lillie (Mrs. Albert Henry) of near Blain, and Chester and Oscar, at home.
She was a good woman -- a member of the Church of God, and was a kind wife and mother. Her family have the sympathy of all.
The funeral was held on Tuesday, the remains being taken to the Newport cemetery for interment. The deceased was aged 61 years.
