Ellen was born in Ireland, the daughter of Cornelius and Ellen Flynn, Sr. She married her first husband, Patrick Shehan, in Worcester in 1856. Patrick died in 1861. Then she married Michael O'Day and in 1868 gave birth to their son John O'Day. Michael was a wire worker at Washburn Iron and passed away in 1869.
In 1878 Ellen married the widower Dennis C Comerford when he was 50 and she was 40. They had no children together. Ellen died, age 80, at the home she shared with her late husband Dennis, 53 Gold St., Worcester.
She was buried in section B, Row 6, Lot 8 on 17 January 1907, in an unmarked grave with no monument.
