Mr. George Paul Fly, 87, of Coffeeville, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at his residence. He was born June 22, 1934 in Yalobusha County to Fletcher, Sr. and Louise Bankston Fly.

Mr. Fly spent most of his working life in the timber industry working for the US Forest Service and as a logger and sawmiller. He honorably served our country in the US Army and was a member of the Sylva Rena Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the Goshen Cemetery near Coffeeville.

Survivors include three daughters, Connie Fly Smith of Horn Lake, Wanda Fly Burrowes of Coffeeville and Mandy Bardo(Michael) of Coffeeville; two sons, Ricky Fly(Dotty) of Grenada and Jason Fly of Batesville; two brothers, Benny Fly and Fletcher Fly, Jr., both of Coffeeville; ten grandchildren, Jessica Fly, Matt Burrowes(Tiffany), Josh Burrowes(Jennifer), Andy Bardo, Alyssa Smith, Charles Smith, Paul Douglas Fly, Ben Fly, Mason Fly and Andrew Fly; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carla Fly; two sons, George Paul Fly, Jr. and Jesse Caleb Fly, and a brother, William Roy Fly.

Pallbearers will be Steve Cummings, Bubba Martin, Bryan McCullough, Homer Melton, Alex Pipkin, Donnie Pipkin and Ed Stevens.
