Fulton Flowers, 52, born 24 Nov 1923, of Route 1, Nahunta, died Sunday morning, 20 Jun 1976, at the Glynn-Brunswick Hospital in Brunswick following a lengthy illness.
A native of Brantley County, he was a son of the George Washington Flowers and Lillian Taylor Flowers. He was engaged as a heavy equipment mechanic. For a number of years he resided in Florida, but had returned to Brantley County about five years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Libby Ruth Smith Flowers; two daughters, Patricia Flowers and Betty Jean Flowers, both of Nahunta; three sons, Richard Flowers of Douglas, Eugene Flowers and Jack Flowers, both of Nahunta; four sisters, Mittie Lee of Nahunta, Ola O'Berry, Liza Lowther, and Wilma Lee, all of Folkston; two brothers, M.C. Flowers of Nahunta and Carey Flowers of Jesup, one half-brother, Sam Jones of Nahunta; two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at two p.m. Tuesday, June 22, from the Bachlott Church of God with the Rev. W. F. Allen officiating, assisted by Rev. L. C. Allen.
Interment followed in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Pall Bearers were Dale Flowers, Billy Flowers, Buck O'Berry, Dan Lee, Groce Lowther, and Pete O'Berry.
Honorary Pall Bearers were Edward Knox, Billy Williams, Stacey Crews, and Carswell Royster.
Chambless Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
