Nelle O. Flood, 94 of Newville died Dec. 12, 1999, at her residence.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. today at F.D. Sweet and Son in Orland. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16 at the Newville Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 12, 1905, in Yreka to Gus and Georgia Rowe.
She was an Orland resident for 82 years. She was a member of the Colusi Historical Society, the Orland Historical and Cultural Society and served many years on the Newville School Board of Trustees. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Orland.
Survivors include one daughter, Marjorie Murphy of Paskenta; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Flood.
The family suggests memorials to Simpson-Finell Park in Paskenta, in care of the mortuary.

Nelle Flood, age 94, died December 12, 1999, at her home in Paskenta. She was born January 12, 1905 to Gus and Georgia Rowe in Yreka. She attended school in Orland and in 1921 at the age of sixteen she married Leo Flood. Despite her dislike for horses and horseback riding, they spent a month long honeymoon camping in the mountains around Yolla Bolly.
After living in Sites and Delevan, the couple returned to the Flood Ranch in Newville. She lived there in the area she loved, until a short time before her death when her physical condition prompted a move to her daughter's home in Paskenta.
Mrs. Flood was a member of the Colusi Historical Society, the Orland Historical and Cultural Society and Orland Church of Christ. She served as trustee of the Newville School.
Her husband, Leo Flood, died in 1972 and her only son, Lyle, died in 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Murphy of Paskenta; nine grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was buried in the Newville Cemetery.
