Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother Joycelyn Lee Thompson Flint passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, June 10, 2009. Joyce was born November 22, 1927 in Logan Utah and was the oldest of three daughters born to Perdetta (Betty) Jewel Nielsen and Carter Selmer Thompson.

Joyce was raised and received her early education in Hyrum Utah. Her family then moved to Layton Utah where she finished her education and was a proud graduate of Davis High School. On March 2, 1946 she married her husband of over 62 years, Allen J Flint. Allen and Joyce were members of the LDS church and later solemized their marriage in the Ogden Temple. They were blessed with three daughters (Robyn, Susan, and Debra) and one son (John).

Joyce spent her professional career working for Boeing and the Layton Agriculture Department. After her years of loyal service to these organizations she loved to spend her time reading, gardening and traveling in their RV. She enjoyed seeing the sights, and especially always looked forward to spending their winters in Yuma Arizona. Joyce and Allen were active members of the Northern Utah Spikers Chapter of the Good Sam Club. They loved meeting new people and they acquired many new friends and acquaintances in their travels. Recently she was a resident of Apple Village and thoroughly enjoyed her role on the welcoming committee and cherished her new friendships. She was a proud grandmother and great grandmother got great joy out of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters, Robyn (Robert) Buckley, Susan (Dennis) Gulbranson, Debbie Ball, and son, John. She is also survived by her sister Joan Gluas and 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Barbara Butters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, 15 June, 2009 at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton Utah. Friends and Family may call Monday, 15 June, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
