She was born in Ayer, MA, on April 6, 1918, daughter of the late Howard and Beatrice (Robbins) Fletcher, and was the wife of the late Merrill H. Adams, who died in 1979. She grew up in Ayer and was a graduate of Ayer High School, Class of 1936, and Westbrook Jr. College in Portland, ME, in 1938.
Meredith lived in Manchester, CT, for most of her life before moving to East Hampton two years ago. She worked as a Medical Secretary and was active with the Humane Society and was interested with anything to do with animals.
Mrs. Adams is survived by three sisters, Helen Trimper of Groton, MA, Olive Lawrence and Pat Haslam both of Ayer, MA.
Graveside Services will be held at Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton, MA, on Saturday, April 10, at 2 p.m., Badger Funeral Home, Groton is in charge of arrangements. Published in The Hartford Courant on April 1, 2010
