Mary Ann Flaxman
Birth: 1768
Death: 1833

English artist. She lived in the shadow of her brilliant elder brother, the sculptor and illustrator, John Flaxman. She worked for some time as a governess, but then became an artist. In 1803 William Hayley's poem The Triumphs of Temper was published, with six illustrations by Mary Flaxman, engraved by William Blake. From 1810 she lived with her brother and his wife, and they are all buried together.
