John is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Elaine; stepdaughter Nancy Dominguez and stepson Michael Delano; two sisters, Margaret Shaffer and Diane Knapp; five grandchildren; and five nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah E. Fitzsimmons-Hunter and younger brother, Robert Michael Fitzsimmons. Internment is at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley CA.
