Mike was buried on 23 Jan 2014, with "Full Military Honors at 1400 hours. Mike, retired as a Sargent First Class (SFC) from the US Army. The question is asked, if Mike was famous, what a lot of folks consider famous, he was not; but to many of our young men and women in harms way he was famous. He was one of their CHAMPIONS in the US Army Aviation World. Mike has been one of my friends forever, as was stated the other day, when we in the AMCOM-ALC learned of his passing. Mike and I first crossed paths in both of our younger days in the 1960's and many times since as civil servants associated with US Army Aviation. MSG Charles Wesley Smith Sr (USA Retired), aka STAFA
