Mrs. Banta is a former vice-chairman of the party and was Rockville auto license branch manager in 1936-38. She was the widow of Hugh H. Banta, former Parke Circuit Court judge.
A native of Fairmount, IL, Mrs. Banta resided at Rockville the last 50 years. She was an abstractor and accountant and a former Parke County grade school teacher.
Mrs. Banta was a past matron of Chapter 177, Order of Eastern Star, of which she has been secretary the last 30 years. She also was a past district deputy of the order. She was a member of the Rockville Methodist Church and the auxiliaries of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Monday in the Rockville Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery.
Survivors incude a son, Hugh V. Banta, with the Air Force on Formosa, and two brothers, Bernard Fisher of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Carl Fisher of Oroville, CA.
