Mary A. Braunagel, 89, of Indianapolis, died Saturday, April 13, 2002, at Wildwood Health Care in Indianapolis.
Born March 16, 1913, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of John B. and Katherine (Minster) Fischer. She married Edward J. Braunagel on Sept. 15, 1936. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1987.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Edward Braunagel of Indianapolis and Francis Braunagel of Fairland; six daughters, Ann Marie Gutierrez of Indianapolis, Mrs. Jerry (Helen) Lux of Shelbyville, Betty Kay O'Brien of Pique, Ohio, Rita Whalley of Indianapolis, Mrs. Harold (Alice) Smith of Westport and Mrs. Patrick (Dianne) Burgoyne of Denver, Colo; 29 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. George (Rosa Mary) DuCharm on April 11, four brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Braunagel was a resident of Shelby County most of her life.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a member of the alter society, St. Joseph's Senior Social Club, Marion Township Home Demonstration Club and Flower Lovers Garden Club.
Funeral services were at 9:30 a.m. this morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with the Father Peter Gallagher officiating.
Burial was in St. Vincent Cemetery in Shelby County.
Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home, 232 W. Broadway St., handled the arrangements.
