Judy Lynn Finnestad, 60, passed away at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL on Thursday, January 17, 2013 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Judy was born October 13, 1952 in Rochelle, Illinois, the daughter of Wayne and Mary Ann Hufford Baker. She married Ronald Finnestad September 1, 1995 in Rochelle. She was a certified Emergency Medical Technician, worked at DelMonte and then as an insurance producer for Kathy Richter at State Farm. She loved bow hunting and nature, was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was chairman of the Evangelism Committee and the Fellowship Committee. Judy was very active in Northern Illinois Tres Dias and with her wonderful reunion sisters. She participated in over 20 Relay for Life events. Whatever Judy did, she did it well! Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Baker.
Judy is survived by her husband, parents, two sons, four step-children, two brothers, two grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and two very dear friends, Jenifer and Joani.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle with Reverend Greg Hoffman officiating. The visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. A memorial has been established.
Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
