Services for Arlie Fielding, 76, of Temple are 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Belton with the Rev. Andy Davis and the Rev. John Warden officiating.

Burial is in North Belton Cemetery.

Mr. Fielding died Saturday, Dec. 18, in a Temple nursing home.

He was born on March 14, 1934, to Frank and Hattie Fielding of Belton. He graduated in 1951 from Belton High School. He served in the Naval Air Force for four years. On Jan. 4, 1954, he married Barbara Jorene Oswalt. He graduated from Decatur Baptist College and from Howard Payne College in 1961 with honors, including the Vinson Award for having the highest scholastic standing. After graduating he attended Southwestern Baptist Seminary. He was licensed into the ministry in March 1957 at White Settlement Baptist Church and ordained at First Baptist Church in Belton. He served 45 years as a pastor including 21 years at Nolan Valley Baptist before retiring.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Darla Coufal; a sister, Nelda Pechal; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scott & White Hospice, 2401 S. 31st, Temple, TX 76508.
