She was the daughter of John Sergeant Hopkins. & Lucinda Fellows. She married first to Theodore S. Pomeroy on December 3, 1822 by whom she had three children. Her second marriage was to Jonathan Edwards Field Sr. on 17 October 1850. She was buried first at Pittsfield, Massachusetts, but her remains were moved at a later time to Stockbridge.

Sources online in family trees cite her birth date as October 14, 1804, which is the same day and month as her death. Whether this is a coincidence or error is unknown without documentation.
