John met Julia Catherine Wilson and they were married July 17, 1946 in Taos, NM. John went to work for the AT&SF Railroad when he was seventeen years old. He left the railroad for three years to serve his country honorably in the US Navy, specifically in the Sea Bees.
He then returned to the Railroad and retired, having worked there 43 years. John and Judy moved to Albuquerque in the mid-fifties and eventually made their home in Edgewood, NM, living there for over 30 years. John was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
He survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Judy; three children, Jean Divine of Grants, Jonetta McKeon and her husband, Mike of Albuquerque, John V. Fessler and his wife, Diana of Rio Rancho; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Rickels of Breckenridge, TX.; along with many friends who loved and will miss him.
