Nancy Ferrier was born in Westmeath Ireland and twice married. She first married Robert Judge in 1850 in Magarafelt, Ireland. She bore him a son (Robert J.) before emigrating to the U.S. They lived a short time in outside of Mobile, Alabama where she gave birth to a second son,(Henry G). From there they moved to Smith County, MS and had two more children, girls, Catherine and Anna J. Her husband Robert is believed to have died about 1858 and is buried in an unknown location.
She then married her second husband James Allen sometime between 1858 and 1860 and bore him six children. Levi, Sarah Tabitha, Annie Jemima, Mary, Victoria Ann, and Eugene Smith who died in 1888 at four years of age. He is believed to be buried in Union Cemetery in an unmarked grave.
After her death, James married a second time to Martha Jane (Janie) Ainsworth and he had four more children from this marriage. So there are three family groups where the children of James and Nancy are half siblings to all, but the first and third group are unrelated.
