Charles Fernsler, prominent South Scranton resident and a Spanish American War veteran, died yesterday at his home, 519 Hemlock street, after a brief illness. Mr. Fernsler was attached, during the Spanish American War, to Co. C, 13th Infantry, Pennsylvania regiment, and serviced throughout the entire campaign. He was a member of General J.P.S. Gobin, Camp No. 41, United Spanish American War veterans, and also a member of Cmp No. 242, P.O.S. of A.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Walter Schebel, three sisters, Mrs. Rose Bronson, Mrs. Uriah Beecham, and Mrs. Louis Kraus, of Altoona, one brother, Oliver Fernsler, and two grandchildren. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the late home. Interment will be made in the Forest Hill cemetery.
