A mother and her two sons are dead after their Wilkinson County home caught fire. According to county coroner Billy Matthews, the incident happened around 1:00 a.m. at a home located at 246A Vinson Road. Matthews says LaThelma Ferguson made it out of the home but went back in to rescue her 10-year-old son Donavan Beck and 12-year-old son Damion Beck Jr. All three died in the fire. A burned down mobile home on Vinson Road is all that's left. Family and friends says she and her two boys lived there for years. "LaThelma had so much potential, but most of all those two young men who had a future that was only limited by the heights of the sky," the family's pastor, Rev. Willie Batts says. "We should remember the good time we had with this family. And we know the legacy that they have left will never be forgotten."
