Kittie West Nelson Ferguson died on December 17, 2011. Kittie was born on July 7, 1931 to Strauder Goff Nelson and Kittie West Schreiner Pugsley.

She attended St. Mary’s Hall and Finch College. Kittie was a leader in the community and a major benefactor of many causes including but not limited to, the Witte Museum, the San Antonio Museum of Art, the San Antonio Zoo, Southwest Craft Center, Sunshine Cottage, Methodist Hospital Foundation, the Texas Biomedical Research Institute, and the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. She was a past President of The Charity Ball Association and a member of The Argyle, San Antonio Country Club, Club Giraud, the Assembly Club and the Pilon Club.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Charles Armand Schreiner, Jr. and Kittie West Schreiner, her parents and her brothers Charles Schreiner Nelson and Strauder Goff Nelson, Jr. She is survived by her children, Kittie West and Henry Rugeley Ferguson, Jr., her granddaughter, Reese Payton Ferguson and numerous nieces, nephews and many cousins. Honorary pallbearers are Harry Brusenhan, Dick Creamer, Mid English, Don Krause, William Parker, Allan Paterson and Reeves Smith.
