Betsy was a tall, sweet, well-spoken lady with a congenial spirit. More than anything she did, I remember how she felt. I recently read that charm was the ability of one person to make two people feel comfortable and smart. By this measure, Betsy was as charming as a person can come.

Elizabeth F. "Betsy" Watson, 76, formerly of Allentown, Coopersburg, and Hillsborough, N.J., died Oct. 9 in the hospice unit of Chandler Hall, Newtown, Bucks County. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Watson Jr.
A graduate of Bryn Mawr College, Delaware County, she was personnel director for the former H. Leh & Co., Allentown, before retiring. Previously, she was a business methods investigator for the former Western Electric Co., Allentown.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Robert P. and Dorothy L. (Koch) Fenstermacher.
She was a former member of Moravian Church, Coopersburg, where she served as treasurer for 11 years, and a former member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown.
She was a volunteer braille transcriber for the Lehigh Valley Braille Guild of Allentown, and a volunteer for Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, and the John and Dorothy Morgan Cancer Center.
Survivors: Daughter, Dorothy Watson Westgate of Skillman, N.J.; stepsons, Robert C. III of Kennebunk, Maine, James G. of Gloucester, Mass.; a grandson, five stepgrandchildren.
Services: memorial, 11 a.m. Saturday, Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown. No calling hours. Arrangements, J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
