KATHLEEN B. BIXLER age 80 of Sturgis, Michigan died early Wednesday afternoon March 28, 2007 at the Sturgis Hospital.
She was born January 31, 1927 in Sturgis, Michigan a daughter to the late Everett & Lucille (Jones) Felter.
Katie was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1945.
On September 16, 1962 she married Ernest L. Bixler in Sturgis. He died December 15, 1975.
Her working life was spent in the retail business. She had been employed for 9 years at the K-Mart Store in Sturgis and for 10 years at Porter’s Drug Store also in Sturgis.
Katie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis and enjoyed dancing, upholstering and time spent with friends and family.
She is survived by 2 Step-Daughters and their husbands, Diane & David Wegner of Sturgis and Priscilla & Michael Kaufmann of Seattle, WA, 1 Step-Son and his wife, David & Joyce Bixler of Tower, Minn., 7 Grandchildren, Dawn Kauffman, Donna Wegner, Deedra Triesenberg, Danielle Wegner, Brandy Bixler, Hans Bixler and Kathryn Lerner, 19 Great Grandchildren and cousins, Pat Houser, Sarah Jane Richards and Rick Jones.
Her parents, husband and uncle preceded her in death.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and burial of the ashes will take place at 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. The Rev. Calvin Kolzow of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis will officiate
