Illness is fatal to W.T. Farris, 85 – Retired Raywick Farmer Dies at Son’s Home Wednesday
William Taylor Farris, well known resident of the Raywick section of the county, died at 9 o’clock
Wednesday morning at the home of his son, J.T. Farris, of infirmities due to age. He had been ill for four months.
Had Mr. Farris lived until December 19, he would have celebrated his eighty-sixth birthday. His parents were Creed and Mary Lewis Farris and he was born in LaRue County but for many years had resided in this county where he had been engaged in farming. He was the last member of his immediate family and since the death of his wife, Mrs. Cecelia Catherine Hedgspeth Farris, which occurred December 5, 1940, he had made his home with his son. Besides his son, he is survived by two sons, S.H. Farris of Raywick and John L. Farris of Louisville and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Miss Mary Farris, teacher in the Bradfordsville School, is a granddaughter.
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. T.C. Morrison of Bradfordsville, were held at the Highview
Methodist Church yesterday afternoon at 1 o’clock and interment was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were W.L. Allen, George Burress, Joe LaRue, Marvin Brown, Horace LaRue and Edgar
Whitfield.
