Barbara Farrar Chittenden, 91, of 58 Pines Lodge, Williamstown, died on November 13, 2013 at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Pittsfield, on October 3, 1922 a daughter of the late Herbert and Annie (Hurst) Farrar. She attended schools in Pittsfield. She was employed for 18 years at the former Shaffer-Eaton Paper Co. in Pittsfield, MA, retiring in 1985. She moved to Williamstown in 1991. She was a member of the Pittsfield American Legion Auxiliary and AARP. She was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Dalton. Barbara was married to Franklin Chittenden in July 24, 1943 at the 1st Methodist Church in Pittsfield. They celebrated their 70th Anniversary in July. Survivors include her husband, Franklin and three daughters, Sandra L. Overlock of North Adams, Beverly Cannon and Mickey Brennan of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Debra Ubertini and her husband Michael as well as a grandson, Joseph Overlock and his wife, Ali of Averill Park, N.Y., and a granddaughter, Amber Ubertini of Dalton. She leaves four great grandchildren, Olivia, Meaghan, Ethan and Glenn. She also leaves her former son in law, Milton Overlock. She was pre-deceased by a brother, George Farrar and two sisters, Elizabeth Spaulding and Clara Beatrice Root.
