At a cocktail party given at their ranch home north of Colusa, California, on Saturday evening, April 19, Mr, and Mrs. A. Darwin Tuttle announced the engagement of their daughter, Helen, to Lt. Thomas A. Boulton, U. S. Navy. The date for the wedding has been set for May 24th. Lt. Boulton is the son of Dr. and Mrs. A. O. Boulton, Gladwin. He attended Olivet College and was graduated from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis in 1942 with the class of 1943. Immediately upon graduating he became gunnery officer on the destroyer Schroeder, serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres and receiving 11 citations. In 1946 he was designated a naval aviator and at present is attached to a fighter squadron. Miss Tuttle, a graduate of the San Francisco high school attended the University of California, where she was affiliated with the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and was graduated from the Sanford School of Nursing. She served two years overseas during World War II with the rank of lieutenant in the U. S. Navy Nurses Corps and at present is a member of the nursing staff of Stanford Clinic in San Francisco. Miss Tuttle is the niece of Fleet Admiral William D. Leahy, and Mrs, David Worthy Bagley, wife of Admiral D. W. Bagley. Gladwin County Record 5/7/1947

Helen Tuttle Fargo, '43, of Coronado, Calif., October 14, at 77, of cancer. After graduation, she worked for a year as a registered nurse in a San Francisco Hospital. During World War II, she served as a Navy nurse on the Pacific islands of Guadalcanal and New Caledonia. Her first husband, naval aviator Thomas A. Boulton, died in 1957. Two and a half years later, she married Navy Capt. William B. Fargo; together they moved to various duty stations, including Sasebo, Japan, before settling in Coronado in 1965. She was a member of the Coronado Women's Golf Club and the Crown Garden Club. Survivors: her husband, William; her daughter, Barbara; two sons, Thomas and Keith; her sister, Elizabeth Smoot; and five grandchildren.
