CANASTOTA -- Georgiana A. Fallon-Cox, 61, of 217 Spencer St., Canastota, died unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, after suffering a heart attack at home on Wednesday.
She was born on May 21, 1951, in Oneida, the daughter of Wallace and Jane Dygert Fallon.
Georgiana spent her early years in Oneida, graduating from Oneida High School in 1969. She has lived in Canastota for the last 42 years.
She has owned and operated her own furniture upholstery business at her home for 25 years.
Georgiana received great satisfaction from her work, and enjoyed reading and listening to books, computer games, sewing, and spending time with her family. She, also, enjoyed her dog, Maggie-May.
Georgiana married Gary A. Cox on Feb. 21, 2003 in Canastota.
Surviving besides her husband, Gary, are: three daughters and sons-in-law, Kelli and Keith Walters of Fayetteville, and Becki and Theodore Lewin III, and Vicki and Joseph Olcott, all of Canastota; two step-sons and a step-daughters-in-law, Todd and Metesha Cox, and Anthony Cox, all of Australia; a step-daughter, Peta Cox of Australia; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and MaryLou Fallon of Sylvan Beach, and Wallace Jr. and Robin Fallon of Oneida; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kathy DenHaese of Canastota, and Donna and Dennis Pynn of Chesapeake, Va.; five grandchildren, Kyle, Korey and Katie Walters, and Tyler and Fallon Lewin; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Georgiana's request there will be no memorial services, however, the family will greet friends on Monday, Feb. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James St., Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to Wanderers' Rest Humane Association, Inc., PO Box 535, Canastota, NY 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
