Mrs. Faye A. Faith, 66, former resident of Warrensburg, died Nov. 19 in Decatur & Macon County Hospital, in Decatur.
Mrs. Faith left Warrensburg about two and one-half years ago after the death of her husband David. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist; the Decatur Womans Club and the Audubon Society. She was one of the first presidents of the P.T.A. serving in 1927-1928 and other years, the first President of the Library Board serving from 1947-1950; President of the Concordia Womans Club and was instrumental in bringing the first Flower Shows here. She was President and served years in the Home Bureau and in earlier years her home was a haven to High School Teachers.
Mrs. Faith was well known as a writer in the Pen Womens Club and Writers Guild, having several articles published, periodically.
Born in Mattoon, August 3, 1892, she was the daughter of John and Anna Benson Abston. She was married to David F. Faith on May 12, 1914 in Warrensburg. He died Jan. 14, 1956.
Mrs. Faith leaves three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Ryan, Maumee, OH.; Mrs. Annabel Tague, Lincoln; and Mrs. Frances Taylor, Vienna; four sisters; Mrs. Frankie Keplar, Decatur; Mrs. Gladys Ahl, Kansas City, MO.; Mrs. Anna Belle Conley, Struthers, OH.; and Mrs. Lana Major, Albion, PA.; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Friday in the Dawson and Wikoff Funeral Home in Decatur and burial was in Illini Cemetery at Warrensburg.
