Mrs. Annie E. Ewart, 80 years of age, widow of Edward H. Ewart, died yesterday morning at 3 o'clock at her home, 1700 Kemper street, death resulting from angina pectoris. Mrs. Ewart had been in failing health for some time but her death came after a few hours' illness, causing a great shock to her family and friends.
Mrs. Ewart was a daughter of the late Joshua and Mrs. Sallie Phillips, of Campbell county, but for many years she had been a resident of Lynchburg. She was the last survivor of a large family of children, a brother and sister having died within the past year. Mrs. Ewart was a member of Memorial Methodist Church. Surviving children are: Mrs. J. E. Marsh, Miss Annie Ewart, Mrs. H. T. Crouch and Mrs. George H. Shelton, of this city and Mrs. S. H. Lewis, of Roanoke. There are three grand children and one great grand child in the family. The funeral will be held from the home Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
