RESORT WOMAN IS FOUND DEAD OF GUNSHOT WOUNDS
The body of Mrs. Anna Everhart, about 70, was found in her home at 109 Spear, shortly after 9 a.m. yesterday with a gunshot wound in the right temple.
Police Lt. Joe Campbell, who investigated, reported that a 38-calibre old fashioned revolver was found near the body.
C. B. (Shorty) Renegar, deputy sheriff and owner of the property where Mrs. Everhart lived alone, found her body when he went to the house after not having heard from or seen her since Sunday. The house was locked and had to be broken into, the officer said.
Campbell reported that Mrs. Everhart had apparently been dead since Sunday night or probably Monday morning.
Dr. D. C. Lee, Garland county coroner, viewed the body, which was later taken to Gross mortuary.
Mrs. Everhart's daughter, Mrs. George Eckel, resides in Little Rock, and has been notified.
Renegar was quoted by Campbell as saying that Mrs. Everhart had been despondent since the sudden death of her husband some two years ago of a heart attack, and had threatened to end her life before.
