The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Viola M. Baggenstoss, age 80 of Albany will be at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany.

Burial will take place at the parish cemetery.

Viola passed away peacefully Thursday morning at home in the care of her daughter Julie.


Viola was born on April 15, 1934 to John and Louise (Klassen) Evans. She attended and graduated from the Albany High School. Viola lived in Albany where she raised her 4 children. She worked in various jobs such as the bakery, Jennie-O, and the Pelican Lake Ballroom.

She enjoyed crafting, baking, trips to the casinos and spending time with family.

Viola is survived by her children, Mary Lou Baggenstoss, Oakland, CA; Joe (Paula) Baggenstoss, St. Anna; Julie (Jeff) Westlund, Grand Rapids and Pat Baggenstoss, St. Joseph; grandchildren, Brandon and Bradley Pelzer, Ashley and Adrianna Baggenstoss and Tanner Westlund and brother, Leander Evans, Mora.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Louise, brothers, Sylvester Evans, Stanley Evans, Alcuin Evans, Marcellus Evans, Jerome Evens and Ronald Evans.
