Dorothy Alsup, age 78, of Kenny died Thursday, January 4, 2001, in Dr. John Warner Hospital in Clinton. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rev. Billy P. Bell officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Clinton. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Dorothy was born on December 20, 1922, in DeWitt County, the daughter of Walker Evans and Beulah Bird. She was a member of the United Methodist Women of the Church and DeWitt County Home Extension Service. She was affiliated with Kenny United Methodist Church.

She married Delmar C. Alsup on March 3, 1944, in Clinton. He passed away May 7, 1980. Surviving are her sons, Gary (Gloria) Alsup of Maroa, Steve (Connie) Alsup of Columbus, MS; daughter, Lou Ann (Jerry) Northrup of Stronghurst; brother, Robert Case of Clinton; sisters, Virginia Hickman and Mary Lomascolo, both of Clinton, Ila Andrews of Dunlap, Nina Evans and Arlene Hoffman, both of Clinton, Judy Kirkham of Boynton Beach, FL; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepfather, three brothers, and two sisters.
