Bernice Hulett Evans, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015, which was her 90th birthday.

Bernice was born in Telfair County to the late James Thomas Hulett and the late Lizzie Durden Hulett. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a friend to everyone she met. She was a lifelong member of Porterfield Baptist Church and her free time she loved nothing more than fishing or working in her flower gardens. She was formerly employed by S&S Cafeteria and she retired from Sears where she worked for 25 years as a bookkeeper.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Charles W. Evans as well as 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Bernice is survived by her devoted daughter Shelly (Tim) Queen of Macon, her loving granddaughter April (Ricky) Ray of Lizella, 2 great granddaughters; Shelby and Hannah Ray of Lizella, 1 sister, Tommie Moore of Midway, a brother-in-law Bobby J. Smith of Lizella and a sister-in-law Melba Ruth Davis of Macon as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, March 6, 2015 in the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, March 5, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 pm also at Crest Lawn.

Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of funeral and burial arrangements.
