Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., for Carol Ann Evans, 71, who passed May 5, 2004, in Bakersfield. Rev. Carole Price will officiate.
Mrs. Evans was born on January 2, 1933, in Bakersfield. She retired after 35 years as a telephone representative with Pac Bell and AT&T. The last 5 years she worked for Kern County Department of Public Health in the accounting department. Mrs. Evans was a Red Cross Volunteer, she was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club and the Eagle Arie #93 Auxiliary. Mrs. Evans loved to crochet, she loved to make Afghans to give as gifts. She loved to make Christmas goodies to give out as gifts also.
Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, Don, who passed away December 6, 1990. Mrs. Evans is survived by her brother, George Gibson and wife, Millie of Kernville; sister, Janice Macht of Bakersfield; stepdaughters, Donna Irvin and Sheree Doba both of Missouri; three grandchidlren; three great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; the Lunch Bunch, Ellen, Sherry, Marsha, Judy, Sandi, Felicia and Donna, longtime friends, Elise, Barbara, Dotty, Marion, Marilyn and Nick, and church friends Martha, Rita and Jerry.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
