Mrs. Lona Agness Wheeler, 84, of Hebert, relative of several Monroe residents, died Thursday at the home of a daughter in Shreveport.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete today, but will be under the direction of Osborn Funeral Home of Shreveport.

A native of Hebert, Mrs. Wheeler lived there until a month ago when she moved to Shreveport. She was a member of the Hebert Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, C. A. Wheeler and A. C. Wheeler, both of Hebert, and Alex Wheeler of Monroe; six daughters, Mrs. Dottie B. Turner of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. Marie Dawson and Mrs. Willie Weatherford, both of Nevada City, Calif., Mrs. Agness Harr of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Hazel Fulford, Delhi, and Mrs. Mary Carlton of Shreveport; two brothers, Sanford Etier and Will Etier, both of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Annie M. Hopkins of Hebert and Mrs. Ethel Hopkins of New Orleans; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lona Agness Wheeler, 84, of Hebert, were held at 2 p.m. today in Girod Baptist Church in Hebert by Rev. John C. Gould.

Burial was in Duchan [sic Duchesne] Cemetery by Hix[s]on Brothers Funeral Home of Monroe.

Mrs. Wheeler died Thursday in Shreveport.
